Thanks to all of our runners for participating in the Motive Bison Stampede. Here's what you had to say about last year's race:

  • This was my first Motive and what a great race! It was run so well and the water stops were so cool! I loved the Car Wash water stop, although the sign at the end of the Las Vegas water stop had me laughing for at least half a mile – “Remember, what happens at the water stop, stays at the water stop” ;-)

  • I’ll definitely be doing Motive again next year. Great atmosphere and challenging but fun course. Lots of people cheering along the course, cool finishers medal, and the best water stops I’ve ever seen. Had a blast. The water stops rocked and it was a ton of fun.

  • Man, I love this race. They just really treat you right, through the whole process, before, after and during. The water stops always crack me up, and then the free pictures afterwards are cool instant gratification, and all the great food and so forth. Race directors take note, the food bags are brilliant, because you then also have something to carry all your other stuff in, not to mention you’re not juggling drink bottles and bananas and bagels.

  • Yeah, this is still my favorite race. Several things made it an excellent day: 1) Cello girl playing Rocky. 2) The bearded lady. HILARIOUS! 3) Even splits between the first and second half. I’m getting better at this. 4) It just so happened that my dad is in town for work and got to come to the race. 5) Socks, poster, medal, coffee and Jamba Juice and the end. 6) This race is SO well done. The only thing that wasn’t rockin’ was a couple of water stops at corners that seemed ill-placed. Other than that it was great (especially parking).

  • This was another amazingly fun race. If any of y'all are down in the Austin area next time next year, I seriously recommend that you come on down and check it out. Besides, you get free race-logo technical socks in your race packet. How cool is that? I wore mine today (washed, of course); maybe they made a difference.

  • Thank you guys! You guys put on the best race in the Distance Challenge, in my opinion, and in Austin, that says a lot. You really take care of us, before, during, and after. Very much appreciated!

  • Just wanted you to know how much I enjoy this race each year. This year was particularly fun because of the Polaroid photos that were done by your HR department. I’m already looking forward to next year!

  • All the water stops rocked! My personal favorites were Bison City Limits and Car Wash (as a close second). Does anybody on this forum know, which team won the water stop challenge?

  • I had a great time yesterday morning. Those guys put so much effort into every little last detail. I loved the water stops - that Vegas sign was impressive (and the "what happens at the water stop" sign – funny). Loved the mister at the Car Wash, and the music at Bison City Limits – the "VIP passes" were very clever. The Blue Men with their blue swim caps cracked me up, too. I voted for the Grease stop, though, out of childhood nostalgia. Did you guys see the slutty (end-of-the-movie) Sandy with her tight black pants, platform sandals and cigarette? If I could have, though, I would have voted for the girl playing the cello in her driveway (again! I remember her from the last time I ran this race.) She was playing the Rocky theme when I went by. Of course, the best part was hanging out and seeing everybody ... Thanks, Motive!

  • I did this half last year and still believe it is the best half in Austin. The entertainment alone is great, but you'll get no better cheerleaders anywhere but the marathon in Feb. And the way you're treated from beginning to end is amazing. I loved the Einstein's bagels, Jamba Juice, gelato... and the bags of food, as someone else said, are great!!

  • I have to share how much I enjoyed this race! It was my first half marathon EVER. The water station crews, team supporters, police, and fans on the sideline were all great encouragement. I don't have much race experience but that doesn't keep me from noticing how well organized you were; the packet pick-up, the start, the water stations, to the awards and all the things I don't see from the racers perspective. I thank you and hope to participate again next year!

  • I wanted to thank the organizers for putting together such a wonderful event yesterday. I trained 6 clients that not only completed, but finished the race with personal best times.

  • I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Stampede. This was my first year but everything went smoothly and the Water Stop teams were just great! Super job and I look forward to the Stampede in 2005! A first class event for sure!

  • The race you guys put on is awesome, despite the hills!! The entertainment is tops and we are thrilled with the food options at the finish and that there is even enough for us slower folks-much appreciated!

  • Motive puts on a really good race. Possibly the best.

  • Great volunteers on the course and lot’s of yummy food after, why not run it!
