Timing and Results

The race will be a chip-timed event. In order to be counted in the results, each runner must attach a timing chip to either shoe. You may pick up your timing chip and zip-tie beginning at 6:00 AM on race day at the race site. Your chip has been assigned to (you and) your bib number prior to the race. Please be careful to ensure that your chip is not exchanged with another participant. It will not be necessary to verify this on race day. A chip is required to be worn to receive an official time in the race. All timing chips will be collected after you have crossed the relay exchange point or the finish line. You will be charged a $30.00 fee if the timing chip is not returned. If you own your own timing chip, please indicate the number on your registration form. Awards will be based on gun time.

Awards

The awards ceremony for the overall and masters male and female half-marathon winners will begin approximately between 9:30-10:00 AM. All other awards can be picked up at the finish of the race or at Motive headquarters the week following the race.

Awards for the Half-Marathon will be presented three deep for each of the following:
  • Overall male and female finishers.
  • Masters male and female finishers.
  • Male and female finishers in five-year age divisions, starting with 19 and under, and then in 5-year increments, (e.g. 20-24, 25-29, etc.) to age 75+.

TruWest Elite Challenge Course Bonus

Once again, TruWest Credit Union is offering a $500 cash bonus to the male and female runners who break the course records of 1:04:48 set by Nicodemus Malakwen of Nairobi (2005) and 1:18:18 by Lori Stich-Zimmerman of Austin (2002).

King & Queen of the Hill Premium

The man and woman who post the fastest time up the one-mile long series of hills on Rain Creek Parkway at approximately mile 5 of the course will be crowned "King & Queen of the Hill" and receive a trophy and $100 cash premium prize. RunFAR Racing Services will place a chip-timing mat at the base and top of the series of hills to clock every runner's uphill split.

Finisher Prizes

ALL half-marathon participants who finish the event within four hours will receive a Finisher Medal to recognize their accomplishment.

Water Stop Challenge

Our wacky water stops are a signature feature of the Motive Bison Stampede. Each year, teams participate in a hotly contested water stop contest with you, the runners, deciding the winner. The teams are challenged to make your running experience the very best it can be. Their pride is on the line, and their reward is your vote. Previous years winners include the Mardi Gras, That 70's Show, The Matrix and the Car Wash. At the conclusion of the race, please tear off the bottom portion of your race number and place it in the box for the team you deem worthy of winning the much-coveted Bison Trophy. The winning team will be announced at the conclusion of the race and will take custody of the trophy, and bragging rights, until next year.
